This day captured Prague’s serenity above the hills, the grandeur of castles, and the magic of night.
Sunshine filled the day, with a few passing showers, but overall it was the kind of weather that feels like a gift 🌤️

 

 

🥐 Starting the Day with Hotel Sovereign Breakfast

The day began with the much-anticipated Hotel Sovereign breakfast!
Honestly, one of the best hotel breakfasts we had during our Czech trip.
Flaky croissants, a variety of cheeses and hams, and delicious Czech sausages.
Simple yet clearly made with care.

🕊️ Strahov Monastery – A Quiet Morning Among Books

After breakfast, we headed to the Strahov Monastery.
Famous for its library, the calm atmosphere welcomed us even from the entrance.
We didn’t go inside, but enjoyed a peaceful stroll through the gardens and exterior.

🌳 Petrin Hill & Tower – Tough Climb, Stunning Reward

We made our way up Petrin Hill, slowly but surely…
but wow, there were so many stairs!
Just as we were getting out of breath, we arrived at Petrin Tower.
And from the top, Prague looked like a gem laid out below.
Endless orange rooftops, the Vltava River, and Charles Bridge all in one sweeping view.

🍽️ Lunch – Restaurance U Labuti

After all that walking, it was time for lunch at Restaurance U Labuti.
Though it’s near Prague Castle, the price and atmosphere were both better than expected.
We had goulash, potato gnocchi, and finished with a sweet apple strudel!

⛪ St. Vitus Cathedral – Painted by Light

After lunch, we moved on to St. Vitus Cathedral.
One of the most imposing places within Prague Castle.
What caught my eye the most were the stained glass windows.
Light streaming through, scattering in vivid colors—

🏰 Prague Castle Tour – From Cathedrals to Golden Lanes

The Prague Castle complex includes several buildings.
We followed the route from St. Vitus Cathedral → St. George’s Basilica → Golden Lane.
The basilica was small and quiet,
while Golden Lane looked like a fairytale path lined with charming little shops.

🏞️ Lobkowicz Palace – Tranquility in the City

Leaving the busy castle behind, we walked to Lobkowicz Palace.
It had a great view and far fewer people.
We didn’t focus on the exhibits, but rather enjoyed the calm atmosphere of the place.

🛍️ Karlova Street & Trdelník

Back in the city center, we strolled along Karlova Street.
And of course, we couldn’t leave without trying a Trdelník 🍩
Drawn in by the smell of cinnamon sugar, we picked one up.
Warm dough, sweet filling—absolute happiness in a spiral.

🍻 Dinner – Kozlovna

Dinner was at Kozlovna.
We paired a local Kozel beer with some light dishes to end the day.
It had a cozy vibe with a mix of tourists and locals.

🌃 Prague Night View – Even More Beautiful Than Day

After sunset, we headed back out to see Prague at night.
The view from near Charles Bridge…
was maybe even better than during the day.
Reflections on the water, quiet alleys, and the warm city lights—
a perfect ending.

Sunshine, quick showers, breathtaking views, and cathedrals bathed in light.
Stepping slightly away from the center,
it was a day to quietly fall in love with Prague.
