Departed Prague → Arrived in Munich → Augustiner-Keller → Eden Hotel Check-in → Hofgarten → Residenz Museum → Marienplatz → St. Peter’s Church → Rischart Cafe → Hofbräuhaus München
Halfway through our Europe trip, we left Czechia and arrived in Munich, Germany.
It was a day of sketching the city with our feet, eyes, and taste.
There were some unexpected moments, but that’s what makes it feel like real travel.
We left Prague early in the morning and hopped on a RegioJet yellow bus to Munich.
The sky was clear, the wind gentle, and the scenery outside the window… unfamiliar but comforting.

Upon arrival, we headed straight to Augustiner-Keller,
a classic beer garden loved by locals.
Even the tablecloths felt traditionally German.
We ordered:
The juicy meat, chewy dumpling, and rich beer washed away all travel fatigue.

After lunch, we checked into Eden Hotel.
Close to the city and clean, it was a convenient spot.
Then we took a ride on what seemed like a retro-looking subway or train,
with wooden panels and a calm German vibe.

Our first sightseeing spot was Hofgarten.
There was live music playing and locals enjoying their time on benches—very peaceful.
Right next door was Residenz Museum,
the former palace of Bavarian royalty.
The golden ceilings, corridors, and differently styled rooms were dazzling.

Next stop: Marienplatz, the heart of Munich.
Standing in front of the New Town Hall, we were blown away.
Gothic details, a tall clock tower, and colorful flowers—
this was the “real Munich moment.”
We wanted to climb St. Peter’s Church for a panoramic view,
but couldn’t make it due to time.

Just a short walk from the square, we found Rischart Cafe.
Great for a slice of German cake and some coffee.
We sat outside and relaxed like locals.
Final stop: the most iconic beer hall in Munich,
Hofbräuhaus München.
It was much bigger than expected, full of noise, beer, and traditional vibes.
But then…
After sitting for over 30 minutes, no one came to take our order.
Then, two beers we didn’t order were placed in front of us.
“This is how it works here,” the server said and left.
I followed him and asked, “Is this racism?”
Only then did he apologize and finally take our order.
(The Indian guests next to us experienced the same.)
Fortunately, things went smoother after that.
These kinds of minor conflicts can become
unforgettable travel memories later.
The seats were long tables, so we had to share with strangers,
but that’s part of the charm.
We chatted and toasted with a group of friendly travelers sitting beside us.

There were a few bumps and some fatigue,
but it was filled with moments that made us feel,
“Yes, we’ve really arrived in Germany.”
๐Next up: we’ll start the day with breakfast,
pick up our car from Sixt at Munich Airport, and head to Salzburg ๐ฆ๐น๐
